Thousands of fans booed judges for 10 minutes at the Olympic Indoor Hall after Aleksei Nemov of Russia received a score, in the high bar individual event, that they thought was too low. Paul Hamm of the US had to wait for abou 10 minutes to start his routine in the event. The judging controversy in Gymnastics continued.

Why "dog days" for the press?
Because there is nothing "newsworthy" to report from Athens besides sports results and the occasional sentimental outburst of athletes and spectators at the halls, fields, and pools of Athens. These Games run so well from an organizational standpoint, that CNN's daily reports from Athens have become kudos for the organizers and the country.
Things are running so smoothly in fact that there was a report that IOC President Jacques Rogge cancelled the daily briefing at the Organizing Committee Headquarters because there is nothing to discuss anymore.

Yesterday, the US swept the men's 400 meters, Britain's Holmes won an unexpected gold in the women's 800 meters, Greece won another two medals, in the women's 20 km walk and the women's long jump.
